Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study Biomedical Sciences General Studies
Advance your scientific background, skills and knowledge in preparation for professional
school or a career with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Biomedical
Sciences General Studies.
Students who have successfully completed the foundation year of the MS in Biomedical Sciences program and have completed, or are pursuing a concentration other than general studies, may
apply to the certificate program if the program requirements are met.
The 12-credit certificate program is only available to PCOM biomedical sciences students
at PCOM Georgia.
Program Requirements
Students pursuing the CAGS in Biomedical Sciences General Studies must:
have completed or currently be pursuing a MS degree in a concentration other than
the General Studies Concentration.
must apply and meet with the PCOM Georgia Biomedical Sciences Program Director.
Please note, a total course load of 10 credits or greater is not recommended if currently
pursuing a MS degree.
Award of the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Biomedical Sciences General
Studies is contingent upon completion of four (4) of the eligible courses with a minimum
total GPA of 2.0 in those four courses in addition to the successful completion of
the MS in Biomedical Sciences degree at PCOM.

This CAGS is designed for those students who desire to strengthen their academic acumen in the Biomedical sciences in preparation for admission to a health professional program.Â
The ideal student is one who has successfully completed the first foundational year of studies at PCOM (GA, SGA, PA) and has completed, or is currently pursuing, a MS degree in a second year concentration other than General Studies.
A CAGS in General Studies will only be granted to students who successfully complete a MS degree in Biomedical Sciences at PCOM

Not all courses are offered each term or each year. Courses are either 3 credits or 4 credits. Depending on the combination of four courses completed for the CAGS, the total number of credits will be 12-16 credits. All Biomedical Program and PCOM policies and procedures as presented in the current handbooks apply to students completing a CAGS in General studies.
